Class open to all people and abilities! King Parrot Bloco de Samba will continue to build on its knowledge and skill and learn more traditional Brazilian percussion and songs.
King Parrot Bloco de Samba focuses on traditional Brazilian community/neighbourhood percussion, with a particular emphasis on Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo Carnival rhythms. We also dabble in other Brazilian regional styles such as samba-reggae, maculele, Afro, Afoxe and funk.

$15 or $12 Concession

All drums supplied free !
Where:
Hazelbrook Public School, Great Western Highway Hazelbrook. To get there by car, turn onto Clearview Parade, then left onto Hazelbrook Parade, then another left onto Beechmount Parade and enter the school car park. By train: go to GWH and walk east down the Highway. Hazelbrook Public is on the corner of the GWH and Beechmount Ave.
Recent news:
* Another great showing at the yearly Ritmo Brazilian Festival, Darling Harbour Sydney September 18. This year we did a stage set rather than the traditional parade, incorporating Mangueira's anthem into our growing show! *King Parrot Bloco de Samba visited the Australian National University for the 2nd time! * We also played a ferocious set at the Blue Mountains' Food Co-op 20th anniversary celebrations in march * And it was yet another great year at the Katoomba Winter Magic Festival - Parade and roof-top performance prior to the fireworks!

It is traditional for Samba Schools and Blocos in Brazil and elsewhere in the world to have a flag, or Bandeira, that represents their geographic location, history, mascots or some other special feature.
